Bio

Voted Best Bartender in Boston 2007 by Boston Magazine, Jackson has elevated the art of mixology to a whole new level.

Reason you became a mixologist: I think of mixology as only one of the many tools of proper bar craft.
(bar craft being one discipline in the hospitality arts)

I always liked a good drink, so it seems inevitable that I would pursue professional opportunities to mix.

Favorite cocktail: with juice, a jack rose. I like a gin martini that is 50% gin and 50% sweet vermouth, with a dash of orange bitters..

Favorite Beija cocktail (we love shameless plugs): Red Hook, substituting beija for whiskey. (aka Beija
Cereja)

Craziest cocktail name you've heard: Really?

Miscellaneous funny story involving a customer: What happens between me and my guests, stays between me and my guests.

Craziest cocktail you've ever made: um, do you know me?

Advice for an aspiring mixologist: Avoid cocktails with crazy names, read lots of old school books. Make all the different versions of the classic recipies you can find and let your taste kind your choice. Still don;t forget that making drinks for others to enjoy requires you to mix the a wider set of senses than your own.
